Match Report: Medeama SC inflict 5-1 humiliating loss on Accra Hearts of Oak

Medeama Sporting club are now favorites to win the 2022/2023 Betpawa premier league thanks to an all important win against Accra Hearts of Oak on match week 31.

The mauves cruise pass the Phobians by inflicting a humiliating 5-1 defeat on the rainbow lads at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Medeama took an early lead in the 17th minute thanks to Derrick Fordjour who’s low drive effort surprisingly beat goalkeeper Richmond Ayi.

Accra Hearts of Oak drew level from the spot through Ibrahim Salifu after Konadu Yiadom was brought down in the box.

Former Hearts of Oak defender Vincent Atinga restored Medeama’s lead via the spot to register his 10th league goal of the season.

Jonathan Sowah had his name on the scoresheet before the end of the first half, connecting to a beautiful cross from Derrick Fordjour.

Back from recess, Accra Hearts of Oak managed to pull one back but was ruled offside by the centre referee.

Medeama piled pressure on the home side culminating in their fourth goal of the afternoon through Jonathan Sowah who rounded off Richmond Ayi beautifully.

Kwesi Donsu sealed the victory for the Yellow  and mauve club with a solo effort in the 88th minute as they record one of their biggest victories against the Phobians at the Accra sports stadium.

The victory now moves Medeama Sporting club to the summit of the league table with 53points, a point clear second placed Aduana Stars.
