‘Give the job to Tanko or Didi’ – Kojo Addae-Mensah advocates

With signs boldly written on the wall over the likely dismissal of Milovan Rajevac following the poor performance of the Black Stars at the ongoing AFCON, several names are popping up as probable replacement of the Serbian.

The Black Stars did not only put up an abysmal performance at the tournament in Cameroon but also recorded Ghana’s worse ever AFCON performance, exiting the group stage with just a point.

Ghanaians have unanimously called for the head of the Serbian gaffer, describing the performance of the team as a ‘national disaster.’

However, growing concerns are that the Black Stars are barely two months away from playing Nigeria in the World Cup qualifying playoffs.

Regardless, Group Chief Executive of Databank, Kojo Addae-Mensah has called for the sacking of the Serbian, mentioning Ibrahim Tanko and didi Dramani as possible replacements.

To him, one of the two can rescue the Black Stars from the conundrum of poor showing at major tournaments since 2019.

“My choice will be Ibrahim Tanko. I think he has coached at the junior level (U23) and most of the players in the Black Stars now are his boys. So he knows some of these players already and transitioning them wouldn’t be difficult under him,” he told footballmadeinghana.com.

“Didi Dramani may be my next choice. He can be a perfect stop gap coach especially at a time that we will need to prepare to face Nigeria in the play offs,” he added.

He, however, unequivocally said his main choice ahead of Tanko and didi would have been Chris Hughton but getting him to come and stay in Ghana ‘may’ be difficult.

Ghana will have to take a decision on the future of Milovan Rajevac and his successor in order to be able to prepare well for the playoff clash with Nigeria scheduled for late March this year.
