Wolves confirm signing of Gabon midfielder Manuel Lemina

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the signing of Manuel Lemina from OG Nice on a two and a half year deal.

The 29 year old made 58 appearances for Nice since 2021 and has had former spells in the Premier League with Fulham and Southampton.

Wolves manager Julien Lopetegui has emphasized on his desire to improve this Wolves squad in order for them to compete with the top sides in English football and the manager believes Lemina is a great prospect to boost his midfield options.

The Gabon midfielder was confirmed as a Wolves player on Friday evening and will return to the Premier League where he featured 74 times and scored thrice with three assists as well.

Wolves manager Julien Lopetegui spoke to the club website saying: “Mario is a good player. We know him, he wants to be here, and he knows the English league. I think that he has the profile to be a good player for us. That’s why he’s here and I wish him all the best.

“He has the profile to help us to improve and to be able to improve our performance in the next matches.

With the ball, he has enough technically to play and to understand the play. Of course, we have never worked together, but now I’m going to know more about him and he has to know about us.”

Wolves take on the hammers on Saturday yet it is unlikely that Lemina would feature in that tie.

However, they take on Manchester City at the Etihad next week and Lemina could feature in that tie.
