Brighton and Hove Albion right wing back Tariq Nii-Lante Lamptey has officially accepted to become a member of the Black Stars family following his decision to represent Ghana.

Lamptey prior to his nationality switch had played for England at the U -18 and U – 21 level.

His decision to suit up for the country of his parents came in July 2022 following an announcement by President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku that he and a number of other foreign born Ghanaians had become eligible to represent Ghana.

He has been named in Otto Addo’s 29 man squad for Ghana’s upcoming friendlies against Brazil on September 23 and Nicaragua on September 26 and is in line to make his Black Stars debut.
