PSG agree personal terms with Bayern Munich’s Lucas Hernandez

PSG have agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez (27), according to a report from L’Équipe. The 2018 World Cup winner looks set to pursue his career in the French capital from next season. Foot Mercato had indicated yesterday that Hernandez had put contract talks on hold with Bayern Munich, with which he is tied to a contract set to expire in 2024. Now, PSG need to find an agreement with Bayern Munich over the transfer fee.

Paris Saint-Germain are in the market for a left-footed centre-back due to the uncertainty surrounding Presnel Kimpembe’s future in the French capital. L’Équipe report that talks between the player’s entourage and PSG Sporting advisor Luis Campos have led to an agreement in principle, and that Bayern Munich are aware of the situation.

The Bavarians’ Sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić has said he would be ready to offer Hernandez a new three-year deal, in order to convince the Marseille-born player to stay in Germany -the France international is, however, interested in joining PSG.

The PSG hierarchy are said to value Hernandez’s mindset and fighting spirit, as well as his versatility. The 2020 Champions League winner can play at centre-back in a three-man defence or as a left-back. This Thursday, L’Équipe had also reported that the Ligue 1 leaders were nearing a €60m move for Sporting’s Manuel Ugarte (22).
