Player profile: All you need to know about Lady Strikers super defender Edith Ogbonna

Edith Ogbonna is a female footballer who plays as a centre back or right full back. She’s currently playing for Ghana women’s premier league club Lady Strikers.

The young defender is just one of the best defenders in the league currently, her ability to clear her line, eye for balls, Strength/Shielding Ability, Heading Ability, Passing Ability, She don’t let the opponent team shoot.

Ogbonna was born in Abia State (Nigeria) in the year 2001. At the age of 11, she join one of the best football academy in Nigeria O.J. Academy football club where she developed her football skills.

In 2013, she move to join one of the most recognised women’s football club in Abia state named Abia Angel’s and she help the team qualify from the lower division to the Nigeria women’s premier league in 2014.

While playing for Angel’s,  Adamawa Queens send their scouting team to scout her closely and the scouting team did a very fantastic job on scouting her.

In 2019, Edith move to Adamawa Queens where she brought stability to their defence and help the team qualify for top 4 position but couldn’t make I’d to the finals.

In 2020, the star defender join Ghana women’s premier league side Lady Strikers. Her partnership with her defensive partner Deborah is still one of the best if not the best in the Ghana women’s premier league. Edith again help her team qualify for top 4 which gave them a ticket to participate in the maiden edition of Ghana women’s premier super cup. They went all the way to the finals but lose to the Ghanaian premier league champions Hasaacas Ladies.
