Our only goal is to beat Al Hilal-Hussein El-Shahat on facing Al Hilal

Al Ahly forward, Hussein El-Shahat, has commented about his team’s mentality going into their game against Al Hilal in the CAF Champions League.

Al Ahly has struggled to secure qualification for the CAF Champions League quarter-finals after dropping points highlighted by two defeats to South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns.

Speaking before the game, El-Shahat says their only goal is to beat Al Hilal and lift their third Champions League trophy in a row.

“We have a great desire to produce a strong performance, win and qualify for the next round. All players have their eyes set on winning the Champions League for the third time in a row, and they have a firm determination to achieve this goal,” El-Shahat said in the pre-match press conference.

Al Ahly always plays to win, and the team has two chances to qualify, whether by winning or drawing, but we will play the match with the intention to win.

“The technical staff and players are well prepared for the match. We’re all fully focused in order to provide the best performance and win and then qualify,” he concluded.
