Ghana Football Awards: Ghana women’s premier league champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies and two other teams nominated for female team of the year

Ghana Footbal Awards is an annual award scheme organized to recognize the best Ghanaian players playing in and outside of the country and key stakeholders who contribute significantly to the game.

Several category of awards are given to the most outstanding performers of the season under review. The awards are presented in July each year at a special gala in Accra Ghana.

In the category of the best female team of the year, 2021/2022 Ghana women’s premier league champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies, last season’s champions Hasaacas Ladies and division one league side Ridge City football club are nominated to contest for the prestigious award.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies are the newly crowned champions of the 2021/2022 Ghana women’s premier league and women’s FA cup.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies finish the 2021/2022 as the winners of the Northen zone after playing 18 league matches and also managed to get to the final of the women’s FA cup making it 25 games in total.

Points gain – 39.

They [Ampem Darkoa Ladies] went unbeaten in the women’s FA cup wining all their 6 matches to win the title.

Hasaacas Ladies.

Hasaacas Ladies has a very decent season in the 2021/2022 league season in the Southern zone and they went unbeaten and also finish as the champions of the zone but fail to lift up a trophy at the end of the season.

They have lost all the two finals they have played this season, the league final and women’s FA cup final.

Ridge City FC.

Division one side Ridge City football club are the champions of Ghana women’s division one zone A.

They have qualify to play in the Ghana division one middle league to contest for a place in the premier league next season.
