Medeama SC are ready for their first-ever CAF Champions League- Dr. Tony Aubynn

The players at Medeama SC are motivated as they get ready for their first-ever CAF Champions League season, according to board chairman Dr. Tony Aubynn.

The Tarkwa-based team, who won the Ghana Premier League, earned the opportunity to represent Ghana in the competition and has since started preparing for the season.

The Yellow and Mauves have also added some players as they get ready to face Nigerian opponents Remo Stars in their opening match of the league, as was announced in the CAF draw last week.

Medeama will host Remo Stars on August 18 at Cape Coast Stadium for the first leg. The second leg is scheduled on August 25.

The players are highly motivated and driven to have a huge effect as the games are scheduled to start in August, according to Tony Aubynn, the club’s Board Chairman.

”The very fact that we don’t have the experience is a huge motivation. Our players are determined to enjoy the opportunity that has been presented to them by our contribution,” he told Graphic Sports.

“I spoke to the players, and they can’t wait to make a name in Africa, and that’s the driving force,” he revealed.

”The players themselves want to make a name and, of course, as a club, we also want to make a name; so the management and the board are also determined to make a name. We are all motivated to do that,” he stressed.

Football fans in Ghana are keen to see how they fare in the competition.
