Man Utd complete capture of England international Jade Moore

Manchester United have signed England international Jade Moore from Orlando Pride on WSL transfer deadline day, boosting squad depth for the second half of the season.

The move sees Moore reunite with Marc Skinner, having previously worked alongside the United boss when he was on the staff at Birmingham – she left the club before he was promoted to head coach – and also later joining him at Orlando.

Skinner confirmed before the transfer window began that United would look at the American market.

“I’m delighted to be here at a club like Manchester United; it’s a proud moment after a difficult period for me,” Moore told ManUtd.com.

“It’s great to be back in this league too, I have a lot of experience in the WSL, having played in it for around a decade, and I think I can bring some of that to this team.

“I’m also looking forward to working under Marc again and getting to know my new team-mates, the group here is thriving and I’m excited to be a part of it. For me, this was the right move in my career at this time and I’m going to work as hard as possible to get fit and be in contention.”

With United battling for a place in the WSL top three, as well as hoping to progress in the FA Cup and already in the latter stages of the Continental Cup, Moore will add experience and bite to a squad that has been shown to be stretched at points earlier this season.

The 31-year-old midfielder has previously played in the WSL for Birmingham, as mentioned, as well as Notts County and Reading. Prior to the WSL era, she also played for Leeds in an FA Cup final and had started out at Lincoln after playing at youth level for Doncaster Belles.

Moore has half a century of senior international caps for the Lionesses since her debut in 2012 and has represented her country at Euro 2013, Euro 2017 and World Cups in both 2015 and 2019.
