Man United edge past Burnley in Carabao cup to reach quarter final

Manchester United have booked a place in the last 8 of the Carabao Cup after a convincing 2-0 victory over Burnley.

The Old Trafford was absolutely packed with many world stars returning from the World Cup to feature in this tie yet it was Vincent Kompany’s men who had control of the game in the early minutes as Ashley Barnes found his header wide from a Gudmundsson cross.

However, after almost half an hour played, United broke the deadlock with skipper Bruno Fernandes finding Wan Bissaka with a wonderful crossfield ball who assisted Cristian Erisken to put the Red Devils in front.

Burnley looked to find themselves level in so many instances yet Casemiro who played at Center back and Dubravka in goal prevented the visitors from equalizing before the break.

Ten minutes into the second half, Marcus Rashford made an incredible run to put the hosts two up and book a place in the quarter final for Ten Hag’s men.
