Let’s make Baba Yara a citadel ground for opponent’s – Mr. David Obeng

The communication and board manager of Asante Kotoko, Mr. David Obeng has called on supporters to make the home venue which has been kept away for almost 2 years due to renovation a stronghold place for opponents.

Asante Kotoko neglected the Baba Yara sports stadium for almost 2 years due to renovation which was going on at the Porcupines home ground.

Speaking to Akoma 87.9 FM, Mr. David Obeng said “What will make us champions at the end of the season is that even in our difficult matches we should ground our result and with this Iman saying we are winning the league and that’s is our target especially looking from the background that Hearts won it last season, that is the only way we can appease all of us to win it in this season”.

He added that “But the playing body at the team cannot fight alone without the barking of our fans. Baba Yara’s return has been so encouraging to us all because some things happened to us (treatment and result last season at Obuasi) last season if we had played at Baba Yara the story would have been different. Let’s create that atmosphere here that won’t see the comfortability of our opponent, so we can dominate us the fortress.

He further compared the ground of the porcupines to that of English Premier League giant Liverpool.

“ Looking at the home ground of Liverpool, you (way teams never come there and enjoy playing football very well as their preferred, Let’s do the same at Baba Yara and make sure we win at least all our home games,” he said.
