Joseph Paintsil Eyes MLS MVP But Prioritizes Team Success

Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil has set his sights on the coveted 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

“It’s something that every player would love to achieve,” Joseph  Paintsil said, acknowledging the prestigious nature of the award.

However, Paintsil emphasizes team success as the ultimate priority. “Whatever happens with MVP, goals and assists and everything, first it’s the team,” he stated. He recognizes the interconnectedness of individual and team achievements, believing that a thriving team paves the way for individual recognition.

The 2024 signing from Belgium outfit Genk has made a strong start in MLS, tallying 3 goals and 3 assists in just 8 appearances. This impressive form coincides with LA Galaxy’s position atop the Western Conference table with 15 points after 8 matches. Their next challenge comes on April 22 when they host San Jose at Dignity Health Sports Park.

Paintsil’s ambition and current form will be key as LA Galaxy looks to maintain their lead in the conference.
