Caleb Amankwah late header secure Hearts of Oak win over Kotoku Royals

Caleb Amankwah scored at the death to secure Hearts of Oak a narrow win over Kotoku Royals on match day 22 of the Betpawa premier league at the Ohene Gyan Stadium. 

The ‘Phobians’ started on a front foot by making a lot of attacking incursions in the half of Kotoku Royals. They nearly got the opener but a great tackle from Zakaria Yakubu saved the situation.

In the second half, the away team injected urgency in their performance and nearly grabbed the lead on the 55th minute but Richmond Ayi dealt with the problem.

On the 74th minute, Hearts of Oak appealed for  a penalty but the referee wasn’t interested. Striker Isaac Mensah was presented with a huge opportunity to fetch the opener on the 85th but he dragged his shot off target.

Caleb Amankwah finally scored with a towering header from Salifu’s delivery on the 90+6 minute to win it for the Rainbow Club.

It ended 1-0 for Hearts of Oak after full time and have returned into the top four with 35 points.
