Asante Kotoko loses appeal to ex-manager C.K. Akonnor

Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s appeal against former boss C.K.Akonnor over his unjust sacking in July last year ends in defeat.

The Kumasi based club have been asked to settle their former boss with a substantial severance package for terminating his contract.

Information on the Ghana FA website States;
“The Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has upheld the decision of the Player Status Committee with respect to the contractual dispute between Coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor and Asante Kotoko SC.”

The now Black Stars Coach’s three-year contract was cut short after he was dismissed by the Porcupines.

In pursuit of his two years salary,CAF Confederations Cup group stage entitlements and and a league trophy cash,Akonnor filed a complaint to the Ghana Football Association which the FA have deemed worthy of serious attention and has ruled in his favor.

Akonnor’s exit from the club was quite unpleasant with the Black Stars boss rejecting an offer to head Kotoko’s technical directorate.
