As part of his visit to Ghana, former Jamaican Sprinter Asafa Powell made a stop at the Family house of late Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu to commiserate with them.

Former Jamaican athlete, Asafa Powell, and his wife, Alyshia, were at the family home of Christian Atsu to commiserate with them. The footballer tragically passed away as a result of the massive earthquake which hit Turkey last month.

The sprinter arrived in Ghana earlier this week for a visit and paid tribute to the departed Black Stars player by visiting his family.

Asafa Powell is in Ghana to inspire young athletes and also connect to the motherland. He broke the Men’s 100m World record four times during 20-year career. Powell set the World record of 9.77s before lowering the mark to 9.74s the following year at the Diamond League meet in Gateshead, U.K.
