Antonio Rudiger reveals key factors in deciding his future

Antonio Rudiger has discussed the factors that will influence his decision over whether to sign a new contract at Chelsea or leave the club on a free transfer.

The Germany international’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and 90min revealed last month that the Blues are resigned to losing their star defender for nothing with Europe’s elite clubs circling.

But Rudiger insists he remains committed to Chelsea – at least for the time being – but did not reveal too much when asked how contract negotiations are going.

“Like always, I’m fully committed to the cause,” Rudiger told Sky Sports ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Spurs on Sunday.

“Talks are between my side and the club, and that’s everything you need to know.”

Rudiger was asked what factors could influence his decision, and gave a rather wholesome answer.

“You need to listen to the missus,” he replied.

“You have to think about your family. My kids were born here in London so that tells you that my family feel great here.

“The rest is up to other people to make decisions and then we will see if we come together or not.”

Rudiger is not short of suitors, with all of Chelsea’s main Premier League rivals – Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and Spurs – all interested in signing the centre-back.

Outside of England, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Inter are all keeping tabs and are freely able to submit contract offers to Rudiger.
