Black Satellites players celebrating

Ghana’s Black Satellites emerged victorious in their final group stage match of the ongoing 2023 African Games Men’s Football Tournament. They edged out the Junior Squirrels of Benin by a solitary goal at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Friday evening.

Jerry Afriyie proved to be the hero for Ghana, scoring his second goal of the tournament in the 34th minute. His strike secured all three points for the Black Satellites, solidifying their position at the top of Group A with 7 points.

Congo also secured their place in the semi-finals with a 2-1 victory over Gambia in the other Group A match played concurrently at the Accra Sports Stadium. This result means Congo will join Ghana in the next stage of the competition.

Ghana’s semi-final opponent will be determined after the remaining matches in Group B are played tonight. The Black Satellites will be eagerly awaiting their next challenge as they strive for African Games glory.
