African Football Expert, Mamadou Gaye, delivers scathing verdict on Milovan Rajevac’s coaching prowess

Outspoken African Football analyst, Mamadou Gaye has stated the decision to bring back Milovan Rajevac to the Black Stars was a wrong decision by the Ghana Football Association.

Milovan Rajevac was reappointed Black Stars Coach in September, 2021 after the Ghana Football Association parted ways with ex-captain CK Akonnor.

Milovan’s return hasn’t proven to be a successful one as the Serb has struggled to bring back the glory days of the Black Stars like he did in his first tenure.

The Black Stars also recorded their worst AFCON campaign under the Serbian’s watch and Mamadou Gaye, when quizzed on his assesment of Milovan’s second tenure delivered a scathing verdict citing the Serbian was out of touch with modalities regarding the current African game.

“It was shocking to see the Coach [CK Akonnor] be fired and replaced by someone who was on holiday somewhere. Just bringing him [Milovan Rajevac] back because of past glory” – Gaye told Empire FM.

“Milo is totally disconnected from the realities of Ghana and African football. For me the decision to bring him back, was absolutely wrong” – Gaye added in his interview with Empire FM.
