AFCON 2021: Milovan Rajevac gives update on the condition of Andre Ayew

Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac has revealed that captain Andre Ayew is available for selection despite being in stitches.

Ayew suffered a head injury against Morocco following a clash of heads which saw him bleed out.

The Al Sadd forward after missing the team’s training session on Wednesday, took part in the final training session on Thursday evening.

“Andre Ayew has some stitches and is feeling okay, I never talk about selection before the game.” – the coach told the media at a press match Presser.

Milovan Rajevac also spoke about officiating in Ghana’s defeat against Morocco.

“I usually don’t talk about officiating, but what happened in the Tunisia verses Mali game wasn’t something good.

“On the stroke of half time in our game against Morocco, there was an incident we deemed should’ve been a penalty for us, but I was denied. I hope next rounds of games will see less controversial officiating.

“I usually congratulate referees and not critise them because they’re human and are bound to make mistakes.

“With VAR, I hope the number of mistakes will be minimized.” He added.

The Black Stars are aiming for their first win at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following a 1-0 loss to Morocco on Monday.
