Elmina Sharks coach wants league to continue despite covid-19 pandemic

Elmina Sharks head coach Yaw Acheampong has said the 2019/2020 Ghana premier league that was halted due to the outbreak of covid-19 should be continued because the virus is not going anytime soon.

He said this in an interview with ace sports journalist Alex Adu when he was asked about the effect of covid-19 on their team and whether the league should be cancelled or continued.

“The virus is not going away any moment from now, it has come to stay with us so i don’t think the league should be cancelled.”

He further added, if bans on public gathering such as churches will be lifted by the president, the same should be done to football.

“I have heard churches will be opened, so if they open, they should let us play our football.”
