Daniel Laryea selected by CAF for a special course

The list of referees who have been shortlisted for the 2023 AFCON preparatory course has been made public by the Confederation of African Football.

In preparation for the AFCON in Ivory Coast in 2023, 32 referees and 33 assistant referees have been invited to the preparatory course.

The referees will undergo physical, theoretical, and technical tests during the course.

Daniel Laryea was the only official from Ghana chosen out of the 32 officials chosen.

Laryea has officiated in a number of international football tournaments, including the 2017 CAF U-17 Cup of Nations, which was played in Gabon, the 2018 WAFU Cup of Nations, which took place in Ghana, the 2018 CHAN, which was hosted by Morocco, the 2020 CHAN competition, which took place in Cameroon, and the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, for which he was one of the chosen referees.

In Morocco in 2022, Daniel Laryea oversaw the CAF Women’s Champions League. He served as the AVAR helper for the CAF Women’s Champions League Final in 2022.
