Jeffery Schlupp on target for Crystal Palace against Olympique Lyonnais

Jeffrey Schlupp, a Ghanaian midfielder, completed his pre-season preparations for the new season with a goal for Crystal Palace against French heavyweights Olympique Lyonnais.

After 14 minutes, Eberechi Eze’s free kick was met by Jeffrey Schlupp, who had avoided the Lyon defence and headed past Anthony Lopes.

Schlupp had a chance to extend Palace’s lead in the 31st minute when Nathaniel Clyne ran down the left flank and crossed to the former Leicester City midfielder on the edge of the box. Schlupp’s shot, on the other hand, was aimed squarely towards Lopes.

After the break, Osdonne Edouard pounced on a sloppy clearing to extend the Eagles’ lead.

Jordan Ayew, a compatriot, also played in the game, and both players are expected to play important roles in their team.

Schlupp has been an important player of the team since signing from Leicester City, the previous English champions.
