Coach of the Black Stars, Charles Akonnor has today distributed hand sanitizers to street hawkers in Accra in attempt to help combat COVID-19

Cities such as Accra, Team, Kumasi and Obuasi are under lock down due to the fast spread of the coronavirus.

“The #COVID19 outbreak has brought the world to a standstill and yet together affects us all. I spent my afternoon today giving out hand sanitizers to some hawkers in the capital,” Akonnor tweeted.

Akonnor was appointed early this year, replacing Kwesi Appiah who had been in charge for two-and-half years.

Black Stars were due to return to action this month in a double-header qualifier against Sudan but the games have been postponed due to the pandemic.
