Match report: Asante Kotoko silence Sarmatex

Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways on with a 2:1 win over Sarmatex at the Nsenkyire Sports Stadium on match day 22 of the Betpawa premier league.

Sarmatex took control of the game in the opening minutes but a splendid finish by Enoch Morrison handed Kotoko the opener in the 19th minute. With the momentum now with Kotoko, Rocky Dwamena made it two for the visitors after brilliant work by Richmond Lamptey.

Back from recess, Sarmatex looked tidy in possession, Seidu Dawda Yusuf and Emmanuel Keyekeh had the back of Richmond Lamptey and Mohammed Sherif against the wall. The home side dissapointly failed to bury the few chances that came their way.

In the 89th minute Sarmatex came close to scoring but goalkeeper Frederick Asare parried Evans Osei Owusu’s header over his goal post.

In added time the back line of Kotoko was finally breached thanks to Ebenezer Ackahbi. The home side pressed for the equaliser but Kotoko held on to record a 2:1 win.
