Women’s football Ghana honours Osae Cicilia Odamae

Women’s football Ghana has honored Northern Ladies player Osae Cicilia Odamae for her immense contribution on the field of play despite her tribulations.

Cicilia Odamae who nearly gave up on her God given talent due to the loss of her father and had to do part time jobs to help her mom look after her siblings, has been one of the outstanding players Ghana women’s league.

Women’s football Ghana in honoring the Osae Cicilia Odamae on their Facebook page, wrote:

WE ALL NEED THAT ONE SHOULDER TO LEAN ON

How does it feel when a father (deceased) leaves behind six children and their mum to fend for themselves? Out of this Six children sprang a young girl who was resolute and determined to defy all odds and fulfill her dream of becoming a footballer a reality.

For her survival, she retorted to part time jobs in events organization and decoration to support herself while playing active football.
She has been with Northern Ladies for the past two years and has judiciously contributed her quota to the team.

In November 2019, the lost of an elder sister who also left behind three kids nearly brought her young career to an end. Her Coach, Sumani Bashirudeen had to convince her to rescind that decision and linger on with her career.

This season she has featured in all seven matches for Northern Ladies and has been rock solid in the heart of defense for the team.

OSAE CECILIA ODAMEA, the women’s premier league is proud of your contribution to team Northern Ladies in the first round of this season.

And to Coach Sumani Basirudeen, thank you for providing a shoulder to lean on.
