Samuel Boadu expresses worry over one thing that is affecting his players ahead of the tie against King Faisal on Sunday

Accra Hearts of Oak will host coach Nurudeen Amadu’s King Faisal at the Accra sports stadium in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) match week 15 fixture on Sunday, and coach Samuel Boadu is much concerned about issues regarding results his side has recorded over the few weeks in the ongoing campaign.

The defending champions trail leaders Asante Kotoko by 13 points after the Porcupine Warriors recorded yet another victory on Friday, beating Accra Great Olympics by 2-0 at the Baba Yara sports stadium to widen their lead. Hearts of Oak sit 7th in the 18-team league table with 20 points and their title hopes are falling apart.

The 21-time league champions have been very inconsistent in results recorded so far, which has limited their rate of points accumulation in the league, and coach Samuel Boadu believes that the inconsistency in their results is really affecting they psyche of his players, demoralising them day in day out.

“I am not happy with the inconsistencies in our results, it is affecting the morale of the players and the team at large and I see that the supporters are not happy as well”, Boadu told the club’s website in an interview.

He however assured that the team is gradually picking up the pieces and charged the players to respond to the situation by winning subsequent games ahead, starting with King Faisal on Sunday.

The team is gradually getting into shape; I am very hopeful that we will find our rhythm soon. The only way to respond to this is to ensure that we begin to win the games and get better”, he assured.

On the game against King Faisal, Boadu admitted that victory will not come on silver platter, but hard work will lead to satisfaction and desired results.

“We need to work hard to ensure that we get the desired result this Sunday against King Faisal. It’s not going to come easy but we will also not relent on our efforts. The focus is clear and that is to pick maximum points”, he urged.
