The Black Stars will arrive in Kumasi on Tuesday to begin preparation for the 2022 World Cup playoff game against Nigeria the local media has reported.

The players will be hoping to redeem themselves after a disappointing campaign at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] in Cameroon.

Ghana for the first since 2006 exited the tournament at the group phase without a win.

After finishing top of Group G in the World Cup qualifiers, the Black Stars host their rivals, the Super Eagles in the first leg on March 25 at the Baba Yara Stadium before the return game on March 29 in Abuja.

With the technical team of the Black Stars, led by Otto Addo yet to announce the squad for the crucial game, the Black Stars will open camp on March 22.

Ghana are seeking to return to the Mundial having missed out in the last edition hosted in Russia in 2018.

The Black Stars have played in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cup in Germany, South Africa and in Brazil respectively.
