Youngster Antoine Semenyo wins Championship Player of the Month for January award

Ghanaian England-born forward Antoine Elorm Semenyo has been named Championship Player of the Month for January after a remarkable display.

The Bristol City star bagged three goals and provided three assists in the English second-tier to land the   Championship player of the month award for January.

The 22-year-old beat competition Blackpool FC goalkeeper Dan Grimshaw, Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic and Queens Park Rangers midfielder Chris Willock to land the monthly gong.

The winner was announced on Friday morning by the judging panel of Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.

Semenyo has scored five goals and provided six assists in 17 appearances for Bristol in the Championship this season.

The Ghanian, England-born forward is set to switch nationality from England to represent Ghana on the international stage.
