Wolves make loan approach for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey

Wolves have made a late approach to bring Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey back to the Premier League, 90min can confirm.

The former Arsenal star has been unable to make the desired impact at Juve since a high profile free transfer in 2019 and has started only 25 Serie A games. Injuries have also served to limit his ability to command a regular place and recent muscle trouble has seen him not play since September, although he made appearances for Wales in both October and November,

Juventus are keen to offload Ramsey and have been pushing for a transfer all month. He has been offered to numerous Premier League sides already, but Ramsey has yet to be swayed by interest from Burnley, Leeds, Crystal Palace and Newcastle.

Now, Wolves have put forward a loan offer that would see Ramsey return to English football two and a half years after running down his contract at Arsenal.

Ramsey, now 31, is a proven Premier League player and previously spent over a decade with the Gunners. Following early loans, he became a regular there in 2011 and went on to play over 360 games for the club in all competitions.

The Wales international reached double figures in all competitions on several occasions for Arsenal and is known for his ability to add goals from midfield. That could be a big boost for Wolves side that, while defensively very strong, has averaged fewer goals per game this season both Newcastle and Watford, and only marginally more than Burnley.

Wolves sit eighth in the Premier League table, within touching distance of a European place.

Adama Traore has already been allowed to leave Molineux this month, returning to boyhood club Barcelona on loan with an option to make it permanent in the summer.

So far this month, Wolves have invested in young Portuguese talent Chiquinho. Hayao Kawabe and Jeong Sang-bin have also joined the club but will both finish the season on loan at Grasshopper.
