“We will see” – Brighton defender on possible Ghana switch

English U21 defender Tariq Lamptey has hinted on a possible nationality switch to Ghana ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Brighton and Hove Albion defender who has featured for the English U21 side is still eligible to play for the Black Stars of Ghana where his parents hail from.

The former Chelsea academy product revealed to Ghanasoccernet.com after their 1:0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday that he’s yet to decide on his next move regarding his switch to play for the West African giant.

“I’m not sure yet. I’ve to just keep focusing on my club football. Take it game by game and then we’ll see.”

There are reports of talks between the Ghana football association and some other dual nationals such as Inaki Williams, Hudson Odoi, Mohammed Salisu among others for switch ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
