We didn’t learn from what happened at 2014 World Cup” — KP Boateng

The 34-year-old midfielder has reacted to the Black Stars’ shocking exit from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

German-born Ghana international Kevin Prince Boateng has claimed that the current Black Stars team lacks the togetherness of previous teams. He was speaking in the wake of the Black Stars exit to Comoros at the ongoing AFCON 2021.

The former Black Stars midfielder was speaking to fans in a Twitter space in the wake of the game.

According to the former AC Milan man, team spirit was one of the most important components in the previous success of the Black Stars.

In 2014 we had more talent than the 2010 team, but the team spirit was lacking and that’s why we couldn’t beat Portugal and Germany”

When pressed further, he elaborated; “When we came in 2014, many of us felt like superstars, we had become so big since 2010 and maybe that affected our outlook and we didn’t try and create a good atmosphere”

Boateng is yet to earn a call-up to feature for Ghana since his suspension from the senior national team in 2014.
