Wassa Amanfi Traditional Council has made a cash donation in the tune of Ghc10, 000 and a cow to FC Samartex 1996 for securing Premiership status after 26 years.
The donation was made to the team after a historic visit to the overlord of the land, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II and other sub-chiefs in the traditional area.
Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II and his sub-chiefs promised the team their unremitting and unmodifiable support to ensure the thrives in their maiden season in Ghana’s topflight league.
The Omanhene and President of Amanfi Traditional Council further admonished the players to give their best to ensure that the club remains in the league forever.
The President of FC Samartex 1996, Mr. Richard Nsenkyire together with the Board Chairman, Dr. Alexander Asmah, General Manager of the team, Edmund Ackah, Human Resource manager, Thomas Assasie-Gyimah led the team.
Other dignitaries who joined the team included Head coach, Henry Willington, Business Development Manager, Paul Kwasi Anyaba, players and other members of the technical team.
Football Club Samartex 1996 pulled off a vintage performance to overcome the challenge of former Premier League clubs like Ebusua Dwarfs, New Edubease and Hasaacas to emerge winners in the Zone Two of the Division One League.
