The title race is not over yet- Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola has alleged the Premier League title race is far from over despite Manchester City solidifying an eight-point lead at the top of the table.

City’s 1-0 win at Brentford on Wednesday, coupled with Chelsea’s 1-1 draw at home to Brighton and Liverpool’s defeat at Leicester, has left Guardiola’s side with a sizeable advantage heading into the new year.

There are 54 points to play. Fifty-four,” he told Amazon Sport.

“We were 4-0 up [against Leicester] and in 20 minutes we were 4-3 three days ago. All of you, thank you for your nice words because we win but I’m not going to believe any of the words you’re going to say if you think it is already done.

“Chelsea and Liverpool are more than exceptional – one is the European champions and Liverpool have been our big rival for years.

Manchester City will be extending their lead on the premier league log with a win over Arsenal at the Emirates on January 1as Chelsea host  Liverpool on the following day.
