Sulley Muntari deserves a spot in the Black Stars squad- Ex-Ghana midfielder Derick Boateng

Former Black Stars midfielder Derick Boateng has called for the inclusion of former teammate Sulley Muntari in the Black stars squad.

According to the former Fulham star, Sulley deserves a spot in the Black stars team because of his current form with Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.

“Sulley Muntari is playing very well at Hearts Of Oak so he deserves to be in Black Stars. I’d love to see Boakye Yiadom in the team. He’s one player we haven’t given enough opportunities and Majeed Ashimeru”, he told Star FM.

The former Getafe man further urged that players shouldn’t be forced to come represent Ghana because there are a lot of them who are willing to play wholeheartedly.

“We don’t need to force or beg any player to come and play for Ghana. Because there are alot of players who are ready to play their hearts out for the country”

Derrick Boateng featured for Liberty Professionals on the domestic scene before turning his eyes overseas to continue his career.
He played for Europeans clubs such as Panathinaikos, Getafe, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Fulham, Eibar, etc.

Derick was part of the Black Stars team that reached the quarter finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and also had 47 caps and scored four goals.
