Spurs come back from two down to share spoils with Brentford

Matchday 17 of the English Premier League saw Brentford take on Tottenham Hotspur at the Gtech Community Stadium as the Premium league resumed action.

The game begun with the hosts taking control of the midfield areas and creating opportunities to open the scoring.

Toney flicked on a header as it dropped to Mbeumo, he crossed for Jensen and when his volley got half blocked, found Vitaly Janelt who was perfectly positioned to tap home and give the hosts the lead after quarter of an hour.

Spurs asked a few more questions as the game passed the half-hour mark.

Raya produced some spectacular regulation saves from Son and Kulusevski as the game went into halftime with Brenford holding onto the lead.

However, Eric Dier needlessly gave away a corner and Brentford forward Ivan Toney was there to finish and give the hosts a two goal lead after 54 minutes in the second half.

Spurs looked to find a goal as Brentford contained the pressure from the visitors.

Lenglet placed in a lovely cross from the left-hand side, Harry rose highest and headed it past Raya to pull one back for Spurs.

Six minutes later, Spurs restored parity with Hojbjerg’s spectacular finish as he tucked home a low Dejan Kulusevski cross.

The last minutes of the game had intensity at the highest level with Spurs pushing for a winner yet they couldn’t find one.

Brentford have earned four points from their last two games against Man City and Spurs as they lie in 9th and Spurs in 4th place.
