Sevilla v Barcelona: what to expect Tonight

Sevilla have won only one of their last 28 LaLiga games against Barcelona (D7 L20), 2-1 in October 2015 with Unai Emery and Luis Enrique Martínez in charge of the respective sides.

Sevilla have failed to win in their last five home LaLiga games against Barcelona (D2 L3), failing to score in the last two. The last time the Andalusian side failed to score in three home LaLiga games in a row against them came back in January 2005 under Joaquín Caparrós.

Barcelona have won the most LaLiga games against Sevilla at Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán in the 21st Century,winning 11 of their 20 away games against them in the competition during this period (D6 L3).

Sevilla’s Julen Lopetegui has lost four of his seven games as a manager against Barcelona in all competitions (W1 D2). Against no side has he suffered more defeats in his managerial career (also four against Real Madrid – G5 W0 D1 L4).

Barcelona’s Xavi Hernández will manage his first LaLiga game against Sevilla – as a player, only against Espanyol (21) did he win more games in the competition than against the Andalusian side (18, alongside Athletic Club).
