Robert Lewandowski three game La Liga suspension ratified

Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski is set to miss the club’s next three La Liga games despite featuring in the derby against Espanyol after his suspension in November.

The Poland skipped received a three game suspension after being sent off at Osasuna by referee Jesus Gil Manzano last November.

Despite the suspension, Lewandowski was allowed to feature against Espanyol last Saturday after Barcelona were granted a preliminary injunction by the Central Contentious Court of Madrid.

However, Espanyol begged to differ with the decision and submitted a formal complaint to the Spanish federation about the la Liga top scorer’s participation in the derby.

Barcelona’s appeal was not accepted and the original decision will be upheld with Robert Lewandowski missing out on the club’s next three La Liga games against Atletico Madrid, Getafe and Girona.
