Richard Senanu sends message to Asante Kotoko fans after injury comeback

Fans have been keen to see the 26-year-old back in the side for several months but the midfield performance in the current season has only heightened the desperation for his return.

Many feel that the re-introduction of Senanu would bring a new level of dynamism in the midfield. His ability to carry the ball beat a man and quickly turn defence into attack could be crucial to the way Johnson Smith is looking to play.

Although the likes of Sarkodie, Adom Frimpong, Keyekeh and Anabila are enjoying good seasons so far, Senanu is different from them all and could add a new dimension to this exciting Kotoko side.

Richard Senanu in an interview with the Kotoko media earlier this morning was delighted to return from his long injury nightmare on Saturday morning when he made his first appearance for the Reds for over two years in the 5-2 win over Kumasi Ebony in a mid-season friendly at Adako Jachie.

“It’s been long since I last played. I have been out of the game for about two years now. I’ve now started training and I am very happy that my comeback has gone through successfully”

“One thing too is that we all train together happily so everything is fine.

“Everything is fine, I train very well. The fans have been backing me with prayers since day one of my injury. That was partly the reason things went that smooth, I train very well now”

The midfielder loved the feeling of being out on the grass again, and confessed that he is mentally strong and assured the fans of a much-improved Senanu.

“I am mentally strong now and I train very well too. The fans already know what Richard Senanu can do. It is both the old and new me now. You (fans) should expect some great moves from me,” he ended.
