Recap – I Expect Legends To Criticize Me Not Amankwah Mireku – Gyan

Leading all time Ghanaian top scorer, Asamoah Gyan throws shade at Amankwah Mireku who formerly of Accra Hearts Of Oak for lampooning him and a section of the black stars players.

Owing to Ghana’s exit from the 2017 AFCON in Gabon, there were a quantum of criticism to the players, and the ex captain for the Phobians wasn’t an exception.

Adding voice to the painful exit, perhaps failure for the stars to have brought home the aultimate, Mireku felt the black stars players then lacked commitment and stamina.

In view of that, the former Liberty Proffessionals pocher held a different opinion to Amankwah as he feels Mireku should have let legends criticise him instead other than him.

“Amankwa Mireku is nowhere near my level in football. I expect Legends to talk about  me not him. Gyan told Kumasi based Angel FM.

Amankwah had earlier called for Gyan’s captaincy be stripped off saying ”The Captain should be given to Andrew Ayew, he has proved over the years that he was born to be a leader, he has a genuine leadership qualities”.

For the forthcoming AFCON in Cameroon, the black stars of Ghana leads group C alongside Morroco, Gabon and Comoros as they eye a fifth AFCON trophy since 1983.
