PSG in talks to sign Tanguy Ndombele on loan from Spurs

Paris Saint-Germain are locked in talks with Tottenham over the potential loan signing of Tanguy Ndombele.

The France international has scarcely lived up to the hype following his club-record move from Lyon in the summer of 2019.

Patience had been wearing thin with Ndombele at Spurs and he all but sealed his own exit when he was booed off by his own fans while trailing to League One side Morecambe in the FA Cup two weeks ago.

Ndombele has since been training away from the first team and Tottenham are keen to shift him this transfer window, and Mauricio Pochettino – who brought the midfielder to north London in the first place – could take him off of Spurs’ hands.

Goal wrote on Thursday that the Ligue 1 leaders wee working on a deal to sign Ndombele on loan until the end of the season, with sporting director Leonardo identifying the midfielder as a ‘primary target’.

90min can confirm that talks are ongoing over a possible exit for Ndombele.

The Frenchman is open to the move and was a boyhood fan of PSG, while some of his best football in recent years came during the brief overlap of his and Pochettino’s time at Tottenham.

PSG aren’t the only side interested in Ndombele, however. Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Roma have made contact with Spurs over a potential swap deal that would see Jordan Veretout head to north London, though this was a ‘simple request of information’ rather than a concrete offer.

A move to Roma would see Ndombele reunite with Jose Mourinho, who he eventually became a regular under during the Portuguese’s spell as head coach at Spurs.
