Otto Addo tipped for success as Black Stars Coach

Former Ghana international defender Habib Mohammed has tipped Otto Addo to enjoy success when confirmed as Black Stars Coach, but on one condition; if there is no interference in the work he’s tasked to do.

Addo, a current assistant coach on the books of German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund has emerged as one of the frontrunners for the vacant Black Stars Coaching role as the Ghana Football Association has intensified the search to find a replacement for the recently dismissed Milovan Rajevac.

The likely appointment of Addo, a former Ghana international has been met with mixed reactions from the footballing public.

Amid the increasing chorus of concerns about him getting the big role, a former national team colleague believes Otto Addo is capable only if he would be allowed to work without interference from officials.

“I played with Otto Addo in the 2006 World Cup and if the GFA will allow him he can work,” Habib Mohammed told Onua Sports.

The clock is ticking against the Black Stars to find a new Coach for the upcoming crucial World Cup 2022 Qualifying Play-off double header with Nigeria.

The two-legged affair to determine who makes it to Qatar later this year will kick-off during the international window in March.
