I now take care of my family because of football – Samira Suleman

Ghanaian female footballer Samira Suleman has revealed she is the person taking care of her family thanks to football.

Samira Suleman described how tough it was becoming a footballer in a community were they frown upon females playing football but she was lucky enough to have parents who supported her until they passed on and had to live with her Aunty who also didn’t like her playing football.

The former Hasaacas Ladies in a video did by the governing body of African football, CAF narrated how football has changed her and her family’s life.

“Now I take care of my family all because of football.”

The 2015 All African Gold Medallist also urged everyone to support women who are playing football and encourage those who have the passion to play in the future.

“Am expecting everybody out there to support women to play football.”
