Nigerian football federation laid-off the entire coach staff after world cup exit

Nigeria football federation, NFF, has terminated the appointment of the entire technical board after failing to qualify for the world cup in Qatar.

Augustine Eguavoen has resigned as Nigeria coach in the wake of failing to qualify the Super Eagles for the World Cup finals.

A statement by the Nigerian FA said that following the playoff defeat to Ghana “the erstwhile Technical Adviser, Augustine Eguavoen has stepped down from that position with immediate effect.”

Originally hired as the Technical Director, the NFF drafted in Eguavoen as interim replacement for Gernot Rohr when the Franco-German in December 2021.
