Nations FC appoint Frimpong Manso as new head coach

Nations FC have appointed veteran tactician Frimpong Manso as their new head coach, barely 24 hours after parting ways with Kassim Ocansey Mingle and his assistant Johnson Smith.

Manso, who was recently dismissed by Bibiani GoldStars following their CAF Champions League qualification exit to JS Kabylie, takes charge of a Nations side desperate to rediscover their spark after a sluggish start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.

The former Ghana international guided GoldStars to their first-ever Ghana Premier League title last season, earning widespread plaudits for his tactical intelligence and player management skills.

His arrival at Nations is seen as a major statement of intent from the club’s hierarchy, who are determined to restore the team’s title ambitions after an underwhelming run of results.

Nations have managed just two wins from their opening seven league matches, prompting swift action from management.

Manso is expected to begin work immediately and could be in the dugout for the team’s next league fixture.

The club is also expected to announce members of Manso’s backroom staff in the coming days as they aim to stabilize performances and climb up the league table.

Frimpong Manso’s appointment marks his latest return to top-flight management and presents an opportunity to reaffirm his credentials as one of Ghana’s most experienced coaches.
