Hearts of Oak legend, Mohammad Polo believes management will be at fault if his former club are unable to have their hands gripped on the Ghana Premier League trophy this season.
The ‘Phobians’ similarly to that of English giants Chelsea, have used three coaches so far this season but things doesn’t still seem to get them on track.
They started with Samuel Boadu who got sacked after just three matches in the ongoing season. Serbian gaffer Slavko Matic chipped in and steered the team throughout the first round but later got chased out at training grounds and hasn’t returned to his post since with his assistant David Ocloo taking over.
These changes really in one way or the other, hindered the team from success, having already suffered early elimination in the FA Cup- of which they were the champions in the previous two seasons.
Also, they are currently sitting on the fourth spot on the league with 45 points, six behind leaders Aduana Stars with few matches to wrap up the 2022/23 football season.
This is why legendary Mohammed Polo has stated it was an open league of which the Rainbow Club could win but if they unable to, then it will be due to managerial inadequacies on the part of the club management. He told Kumasi-based Pure FM;
“The management has a problem because they appointed Slavko Matic but the fans sacked him and that indicates that the management did a poor job.
When Matic was appointed, he sacked senior players without giving them the opportunity to prove themselves.
“There were no reasons why he made those decisions and when he was chased out, the assistant coach came to their rescue.
“For me, if the club fail to win the Premier League, the management must be blamed,” he added.
They will face Samartex FC in the next round of matches.
