Minimum $1000 As Player Salary Will Curtail Player Exodus- Kotoko Captain Felix Annan Tells Club Owners.

Asante Kotoko skipper Felix Annan has urged club owners in Ghana to pay more as salaries to players if they want to stop footballers from traveling abroad.

In recent years, most players who turn to perform well even in debut seasons in the Ghanaian top-flight ends up moving to Europe or other Africa countries the following due to the low amount of monies they receive as salaries in Ghana.

The CIES Football Observatory report for 2018 named Ghana as the number one in Africa when it comes to transferring of footballers abroad, a situation which has gone a long way to affect performances of the local clubs in Africa domestic completion.

“Ghana has a lot of talent and if players are paid a minimum of $1000 then the players will be able to stay for about four to five years before leaving abroad”.Annan said.

“If the players also stay in the league for long, we will be able to compete with clubs from other countries that we have always wanted”. He added.
