Maxwell Konadu Reacts to Manhyia’s Ban on Player Signing

Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach, Maxwell Konadu has reacted to news that Manhyia has placed banned on signing new players to the first team of Asante Kotoko.

At the inauguration of the new board of directors of Asante Kotoko, Kofi Badu who is the Chief of Staff at Manhyia Palace made it known to them that the club is not supposed to sign new players for the next one year, focus should be on the academy instead.

“Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has directed that Asante Kotoko should not sign any new player for the first team for a period of one year. The club has enough players to serve them for the period in question.” Kofi Badu Chief of Staff, Manhyia Palace told media men.

According to the head coach Maxwell Konadu, if upon further accessing his team the need arises for him to sign a few players, he will plead to Manhyia to allow them.

“If the need be to buy players, we will plead with Manhyia to allow us to purchase one or two but if we realize what we have is okay, we will move on- Coach Maxwell Konadu reacting to Otumfuo’s embargo placed on player purchase for the next one year,” he told Oyerepa FM in Kumasi.
