Match Report: Ghana vs Liberia

On Tuesday, 12 September, 2023, the Black Stars of Ghana hosted Liberia in a friendly match in preparation of next year’s AFCON tournament.

Though it was a friendly game but the match was competitive especially in the first half.

The Liberians gave Ghana a difficult showpiece in the first half before Ghana broke the deadlock, securing their first goal in the second half.

Ernest Nuamah finished off a nice long pass from Nicolas Opoku to give Ghana the first goal on the day.

Ernest Nuamah continued to show his fine form and commitment to the team by setting up Mohammed Kudus for the second goal.

Medeama striker Jonathan Sowah came off the bench to provide an assist for Jordan Ayew in his first game for the Black Stars, making the score line 3-0 before the Liberians pulled one back in the dying minutes of the game.

A lot of Ghanaians enjoyed that second half displayed by the Black Stars.

The Black Stars will face U.S.A and Mexico in the October international break.
