Match Report FA Cup: Extra-time winner sees Dreams FC beat Legon Cities to reach semi-final Featured

Dreams FC have progressed to the semis of the 2022/23 FA Cup competition after defeating Legon Cities courtesy an extra-time goal from Ebenezer Adade.

Dreams FC secured their second consecutive semi-final berth of the competition following a 1-0 victory in the quarter-final fixture against Legon Cities at the Theater of Dreams in Dawu.

The ‘Still Believe’ lads had lots of possession in the first half and nearly broke the deadlock on the 8th minute but Gael Avocevou failed to bury the chance.

Legon Cities had a lot of defensive duties following the intense pressure mounted on them, however they managed to end the first half without conceding from the fearsome attacks launched by Dreams FC.

In the second half, the game was fairly balanced, both sides made attempts to register the opener in regulation time. In attendance at the stadium was head coach of the Black Stars Chris Hughton.

The match was forced into thirty minutes of extra time after the entire 90 minutes failed to produce goals.

Dreams FC broke the deadlock on the 103rd minuye. Ebenezer Adade beat goalkeeper Hornu after completing a daring solo run.

Legon Cities piled pressure in the remaining minutes of the extra-time but none of their efforts earned them the equalizer for a penalty shootouts as Dreams FC progressed to the semi-final stage of the 2022/23 FA Cup competition.

Dreams FC will face the winner of the quarter-final match between Skyy FC and Ebusua Dwarfs scheduled today.
